I’ll try it out when I get home from work tonight, thanks for the tip. I chose this board after reading several guides to installing OS X on it, but it seems they were written using the original version, not this 2. But I don’t see the ICH7 version listed among the chipsets that this mod works with. I’ve got several real macs already, including a Powerbook G4 I installed retail

Posted April 13, I’ve found that this makes certain OSX actually really re-installs itself, not just ‘clean-reinstalls’ over top of the last install, and therefore keeps whatever problem you’re seeing.

It could be as simple as whatever burn method you’re using is screwing you up every time. Originally Posted by parsec.

Obviously my systems are somewhat limited by each board’s sata2 bandwidth, but this is not a problem. There’s never a Darwin prompt? It would appear that this revision of the board has been ga-g31m-es2ll in such a way as to break it’s legendary OS X compatibility, though I doubt it was deliberate.
Hi ive just been getting my first ssd drive a Samsung evo but the magician software I get with it is telling me I need to activate ahci mode for the best performance My motherboard is a gigabyte G31M-ES2L and does not have an option in the bios to change it The ssd is working but I just feel its not as fast as it could be and the software is sort of confirming this.
No, I’m not using the onboard video. Only you can decide if it is worth it to you.

Great that you got it working! It was left over from work when we cleaned up the comms room. Auto lets the BIOS set the device modes. First, if you’ve never booted an OS at all, try installing Gw-g31m-es2l just to see if that works.
Keep in ga-g31m-es2, Boot works great, but it only works with an actual standalone retail disc- not the model-specific OSX disks that come with a PowerBook or most model Macs. Select your exact model of video card, and have the tool write the custom boot. For supported ATI cards, I’m not sure what the best method is. Posted April 15, I built the Boot disc using SlimBuild and dsmos.
Do you have this selector? I got it working this morning.

I’m hoping it’s something gx-g31m-es2l I’m overlooking in my inexperience, because this is getting really frustrating now. Posted January 9, Posted April 21,
